Franco Mirabelli has been selected to design and create a fashion forward look for the outfits to be worn by front-of-house staff including the Hotel's front desk representatives, concierge, doormen, and employees of Mark McEwan's new flagship restaurant 'ONE'. World-renowned interior designers YabuPushelberg who have chosen rich textures to create a classic, glamour ambiance are designing the Hazelton's décor.

"Because The Hazelton Hotel is a very special small luxury hotel, I am creating a chic and urban look for each staff function -- one that complements the hotel's glamorous and intimate environment," says Franco.

Working in a base colour of black, the overall silhouette will be streamlined and fitted. Each staff function will be individualized by a distinct selection of shirts and silk ties. For example, male front-desk staff will be outfitted in a three-button, fitted jacket over a slim trouser and accessorized with stylish white shirts and silver ties. The doorman will be outfitted in a similar look except distinguished by a fashion forward; tone-on-tone look of black shirt and black tie while lavender accessories will differentiate the concierge.

Female front-of-house staff will wear a men's way inspired, streamlined pant-suit with an optional skirt. It will be teamed with a crisp, short-sleeved cotton shirt. The fabric for all of the outfits will be luxurious and trans-seasonal, with some blended with lycra for all-season ease of wear.

Mark McEwan's restaurant 'ONE' will feature an intimate yet luxurious design incorporating rich wood flooring, smoked glass, cowhide, mirror paneling and boldly striped tiger’s-eye and onyx. To complement the sophisticated aesthetics, Franco has designed an elegant yet modern look, which includes a black-on-black striped cotton voile shirt for male staff that will be worn out over a skinny pant. Women will wear a fitted kimono-shaped top that ties at the waist and is also worn over a skinny, stove-pipe pant.

" The restaurant has intimate yet sensual décor," says Franco. "I wanted to create a look for the restaurant staff that was sophisticated and sensuous with a European flair."

According to Klaus Tenter, Chief Operating Officer, Hazelton Hotels, the choice of a fashion designer was a critical part of the Hazelton mix. "At The Hazelton, we have assembled a dream team in the areas of architecture, interior décor, food and technology. The choice of Franco Mirabelli was therefore a natural fit. The look and feel of his designs reflects the excellence of the hotel and our staff will be proud to wear this renowned Canadian designer."

The Hazelton Hotel, scheduled to open in August 2007, will be the only member of "Leading Small Hotels of the World" in Toronto. Located in the heart of Yorkville at 118 Yorkville Avenue, the hotel will consist of 77 guest rooms and suites, meeting space, a private screening room, spa and Mark McEwan's restaurant 'ONE'.

Franco Mirabelli has long been one of Canada's most progressive and visionary designers. His collection is designed and manufactured in Toronto, where he owns two company stores, Mirabelli. The "Franco Mirabelli" label wholesales across Canada and the United States in the finest specialty boutiques. Franco was also selected to design staff outfits for the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in 2006, Canada's first opera house, as well as for Proof and Sky Lounge, two popular bars in the Intercontinental Hotel on Bloor Street West.
